Hello all!!

For an upcoming project that LivinginPeru.com will be working on, we would like to know your opinion of Peruvian women. Granted, this question may be more directed towards men, but we certainly will welcome opinions from both genders. Please keep your answers appropriate, as they may be used for future publication. Thanks!

I don't know if it applies only to Peruvian women or just Latin women in general, but the level of care they give the family seems exceptional.

This may only be because in the US most women work outside the home and don't have the same amount of time to devote to the house/family.

I guess that my opion may be a little narrow scince I have only known one Peruvian woman.

She is totally devoted to family, intense in her desires, and has always been very supportive of me.

My wife is the GREATEST woman I know! She is smart, loving, and creative. She cares for me and our children better than anyone else could. She is Peruana but I know not all Peruanas are like her. Having said that, I don't think that I could have found a woman like her in the USA. But maybe that's just because she and I were made for each other.

In general the women that I have met in Peru (mostly members of my family) have been much more concerned with the impression they make than women in the US. Even if they are just going out to the market to by some fruit they will dress themselves well, put on makeup and make sure that they look fantastic. This is something I'm sure most of you have seen for yourselves.....when you are on an airplane on an int'l flight who are the folks dressed like bums? Usually they are US citizens. Most of the latins that I've seen on planes are always neat and well dressed.

I think this is an attitude that we used to have in the US. My grandmother used to say, "You can be poor and have old clothes and there is no shame, but soap is cheap and you and your clothes should always be clean."

When we were newly married, my wife was often scandalized when we would go to Walmart and see all of the creepy looking people who don't even bother with their appearance or maybe they try too hard to look creepy. She has since become more used to it but we are still occasionally shocked (especially at Walmart)!

Having said all of this, I have to give the disclaimer that I probably qualify as an "official old fart", so take all of what I say with a grain of salt. jejejeje

Steven,

Tell us what quality you find attractive about Peruvian women other then the obvious fact that they are hot!

Someone might find these comments simply sexist and I'd hate to have people think of you as a shallow male.

My hat comes off to any woman that is forced to grow up and live in a 3rd world country. They suffer tremendously throughout the days on this earth, often times at the hands of those that are supposed to love and protect them.

Woman in Peru that are unfortunate enough to have been raised in an average family environment, are many times subject to the drunken rage of a spouse, saddled with children that are often just too numerous, they are unable to give the love and attention that is required. Unable to gain employment at a descent wage they cannot lift themselves above the inherited problems. Those that do take on outside employment often become abused by the boss while on the job. Forced to work long hours without compensation, harassed both sexually and mentally with no room for honest shot advancement.

These women are treated many times as 3rd or even 4th rate citizens. The ruling elite look down on the second class Peruvians, these Peruvians in turn look down upon the women as 3rd rate and subserviant, if you are unfortunate enough to have been born with native American features you are then subject to live with even more hardship and ridicule.

Yet I find Peruvian women as a whole to be warm, loving, nurturing, creatures! A heart so big and beautiful only another women can understand the way and the why they care.

It is these same women that never give up on family where the spouse has long forgotten what it means to be a husband and farther. Peruvian women will work informal businesses out of the house to earn an extra buck, save something on the side not for herself but to allow her children a small luxury that them may never know themselves. Only to have a husband or boyfriend abuse them again if they were to find out that extras went to a child instead of the MAN of the family.

Peruvian women? I couldn't endure half of what they do. A rock! that's what I use to describe them, a rock!
